Joe Zunic was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at age 29.  Joe was a strong, dedicated, hard working individual. He was always there to help anyone who needed him.  Suddenly it was Joe that needed the help.  This was very hard for him to accept.  He had always been a giver, not a taker.  A group of Joe's friends finally convinced him that a benefit was in order.  Joe, with the help of some friends and family, created ZOONEYFEST, an annual event that would benefit someone different each year. 

We are all very proud of how successful ZOONEYFEST has become.  The community involvement and support continues to grow year after year.  It has turned into an all day family event that has something for everyone. 

Joe Zunic passed away on January 4th, 2008, at the age of 33.  ZOONEYFEST has become a way for Joe  to continue helping others, something that was a priority in his life.
